Hays Salon began in 2011 when best friends Alex Hay and Jasim Al-Mutar launched their business together. Alex now runs the salon independently, continuing to lead with passion, creativity, and dedication.

Alex
Creative director / 20 Years Experience
With over 20 years experience Alex aims to deliver the the very best hairdressing experience. Trained under one of the best hairdressers in East Riding mastering the timeless foundations of classic haircuts and colours that stand the test of time.
Always keeping an eye on current trends, researching and developing his skills constantly, which has enabled him to fuse traditional and modern techniques of hairdressing. Giving him a unique blend of expertly executed classics with a modern twist.
His vision on hairdressing is very clear, he wants to deliver well-executed, wearable, fashion-lead hair and done in a way that makes you feel amazing.
Lauren
Front of house / Salon assistant
While not a hairdresser herself, Lauren plays a crucial role in ensuring that your experience is as amazing as it can be.
Lauren joined the salon almost two years ago and is often the first friendly face you’ll see. She manages all bookings with care and attention to detail and also supports the team as a salon assistant, helping keep the salon running seamlessly while ensuring every client feels relaxed and welcomed
Amy
Stylist / 5 Years Experience
Amy began her career at Hays Salon in 2019 and is a fully qualified Level 3 stylist. With 5 years experience under her belt, Amy is always keen to improve every aspect of her hairdressing repertoire.
Amy is passionate about all aspects of hairdressing; she approaches her work with care, striving to provide the best possible experience for all of her clients. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Amy is determined to achieve success and continually improve her abilities.
Amy is technically excellent in both cutting and colouring and she particularly excels in balayage and highlights. In 2021, she achieved a significant milestone by winning the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Future Talent Award. Amy has further specialised through an advanced blonding course, perfecting soft, seamless blends, bright blondes, and bespoke colour techniques.
Georgia
Stylist / 2 Years Experience
Georgia started at Hays Salon in April 2022 as an apprentice. In her previous life she was a teacher but decided looking after screaming kids just wasn’t for her, she needed a job that would utilize her creativity! She whipped through her qualification and passed with a distinction (the best you can get).
Georgia is back in the salon after maternity leave and can’t wait to get back to doing what she loves — styling hair and looking after her clients. She’s excited to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new ones.
She has a real passion for balayage, as it allows her to be more creative, expressive and tailor each colour to the individual.
Paige
Stylist / 11 Years Experience
Paige is a talented and passionate hairstylist whose journey in the world of hairdressing began at the age of 16. Demonstrating a natural flair from the very beginning, she was lucky enough to take part in Graduate Fashion Week in London in 2016.
Being a part of the Hays family has allowed Paige to further flourish in her craft, surrounded by a team of like-minded professionals who share her passion for creating stunning hairstyles.
Paige has a passion for working with natural curls and is highly knowledgeable in providing expert advice on curl care and maintenance. She also loves working with longer hair, creating bouncy blowdries, textured finishes, and soft, natural highlights.
Jasmine
Graduate Stylist
Jasmine joined the salon as an apprentice almost two years ago and quickly excelled at college, earning her qualification with distinction.
Now a graduate stylist in her first year on the salon floor, Jasmine is passionate about all things blonde. She enjoys creating bespoke colours that suit each client’s style and personality, whether it’s subtle highlights or bright, eye-catching tones.
Currently completing her Level 3 qualification, Jasmine is dedicated to growing her skills and delivering excellent results. She loves connecting with clients, offering tips on hair care, and helping everyone leave the salon feeling confident. Jasmine is now accepting bookings and looks forward to creating beautiful styles for both new and returning clients.
